Cycling Routes

Cycle past windmills, artworks, vineyards, or stately country estates – in the Achterhoek, the choice is yours! You’ll find few places with such a rich variety of scenery. It’s no surprise the Dutch Cyclists’ Union crowned the Achterhoek the best cycling region in the Netherlands.

Numerous scenic cycling routes have been mapped out, taking you to hidden gems and charming spots. You can follow these routes via the junction network (knooppunten), with a route booklet, or using an app on your phone. Several cycling routes are available at our reception. Or create your own route using the well-known junction system.

You can also visit local tourist offices (VVV) for detailed information about cycling routes in our municipality. There are both signposted routes and routes that follow written descriptions. A unique option is the cross-border Agri-Cultura Experience Route, a signposted route through the Achterhoek and Westmünsterland. Along the way, you’ll pass nature reserves, restaurants, farms, gardens, and museums – all with strong ties to the local culture.

Bicycle Rental

Rent a regular 7-speed bicycle, or discover even more of the Achterhoek in a day with one of our sporty e-bikes! Of course, you’re also welcome to bring your own bike. We offer a covered bicycle shed with charging points for e-bikes.
