Hotel-to-Hotel Hiking Adventure - 3-Day Package
Embark on a unique 3-day hiking package where you walk from hotel to hotel, right through the stunning natural landscapes of National Landscape Winterswijk. Two beautiful routes (19 km & 15 km) take you through unique raised bogs, woodlands, along streams, and past historical buildings.
You’ll stay at two different hotels: the Boutique Hotel & BrasserieDe Heerlyckheid in the medieval town of Bredevoort, and the Oldschool Hotel, located in a former secondary school in the heart of Winterswijk. Each evening, enjoy a culinary dinner, and every morning a lovingly prepared breakfast awaits you.
In short: a fully organized walking holiday where all you have to do is enjoy the beauty of National Landscape Winterswijk. Even your luggage transport is taken care of!
What does the 3-day hiking arrangement look like?
Day 1. Arrival at Oldschool Hotel
Back to school – in style! You’ll stay in a unique location: a beautifully transformed former school building. From the hotel, you can easily walk into the lively town centre filled with shops. Art enthusiasts can visit Villa Mondriaan, the former home of artist Piet Mondriaan. In the evening, enjoy a 4-course dinner at Gastrobar Blend 61.
Day 2. Oldschool Hotel to Boutique Hotel & Brasserie De Heerlyckheid
Start your day with a generous breakfast buffet. Today’s hike leads you through peaceful landscapes and past historic buildings on your way to the medieval town of Bredevoort. With a bit of luck, you might spot a kingfisher or a grey wagtail along the way. You’ll spend the night in a beautifully restored historic building in the heart of Bredevoort. In the evening, enjoy a delightful 3-course dinner inspired by classic French cuisine.
Day 3 – Boutique Hotel De Heerlyckheid back to Oldschool Hotel
Begin your final day with a Heerlyckheid indulgent breakfast. Your route back to Winterswijk takes you through a varied landscape of meadows, hedgerows, and nature reserves where rare plants and animals can be seen.

Practical Information
The hiking routes in this package follow the official walking network. The distances are 19 km on the first day and 15 km on the second, but can easily be adjusted for a longer or shorter walk. Some parts of the trails may be muddy during wet seasons, so we recommend wearing sturdy hiking boots.
